| Character Name: Almaz von Almadine Adamant Series: Makai Senki Disgaea 3 Gender: Male Age: 18 Species: Human Sexuality: It feels a bit odd to tack a sexuality on Almaz. He's quite smitten with princess Sapphire Rhodonite, after all. If anything, he could be considered "Sapphire-sexual". ♥ Appearance: "Boyish" is a good place to start with Almaz's appearance. Upon looking at him one probably wouldn't gather that he is, in fact, eighteen years old (not right away, at least). His blue hair is not quite shoulder length, nor is it quite exactly something one could call well kept. If it didn't fall in the peculiar way it did, Almaz's hair would probably cover his eyes-- which, like his hair, are blue in color (if a lighter shade). Also of small note, is a tuft of hair that sticks out on the top of Almaz's head, kind of like an antenna! Almaz is thin, perhaps a bit scrawny. One would think he'd have the faintest bit (only a bit) of muscle from fighting, either as a soldier or as a poor soul trying to survive the Netherworld. If he does, however, his clothes hide it very, very well. "Knight in shining white armor"? "Maybe if you squinted from a distance," is slightly more accurate. But only slightly. His attire does give off the impression of someone who could potentially be such... Almaz wears a white jacket with matching pants, as well as a red scarf around his neck. Beneath his jacket, Almaz wears a dark shirt and a belt. In addition to the above, he also has a pair of fingerless gloves and a pair of boots. |

Personality: Let it not be said that Almaz is a complicated character. One could almost say he wears his heart on his sleeve, if not for the fact that he does keep a small number of things quiet. Otherwise, Almaz is very open about how he feels. If he's sad he'll cry openly or at least sob a bit pathetically, when he's flustered his stutter is a bit more apparent, and when scared or nervous he'll shrilly protest. On that note, Almaz is rather easily excited, or is "panicked" more the word? Either way, his voice can get rather high pitched at times. Be it because he's protesting to something someone has said, freaking out over the... uniqueness of the Netherworld, or simply just when he's whining and sulking. Like many heroes, however, Almaz has a princess! Well, that is, she isn't "his"-- it's more that he's kind of got it really badly for her. Really badly. The stupidly adorable kind of badly! Princess Sapphire gives him a little courage through his desire to protect her, and this helps our poor hero, who isn't always as brave as he could be. Which is another way of saying, "Almaz is a wimp". He's also sometimes what could only be best described as pathetic. That doesn't mean he's a hopeless sort of character, certainly not. Almaz is thoughtful, polite, and all in all a sweet person at heart. Pathetic or not, he can't ignore someone in trouble! (Whether or not he's actually able to help is another matter, but still.) And while he usually is submissive and compliant towards others, Almaz can gather the courage to speak up when it counts. Ah, but we're forgetting something very important here! And that is: Almaz is a dork. He's not always the brightest crayon in the box, not to say that he's stupid. He certainly seems to have a decent grasp of common sense, especially when his friends are being a bit eccentric. Almaz just seems to forget to use it sometimes, or doesn't appear to think things over very well before acting. More than that, he's also what one would call a "hero fanatic". Always wanted to be one, you know? Almaz buys the manga, the video games! He knows (and recites) the Hero's Oath by heart! Indeed, "dork" describes Almaz quite well in this way. | Strengths and Weaknesses |
| Abilities: Despite being someone one could call commiserable and being something of a wimp, once Almaz is intent on something you can be sure that he won't give up on it. He'll hold on to it, and do his best when it really matters. Almaz is only human in the end, and doesn't have a terrible lot of flashy, super-powerful, super-natural abilities. He's not so great with magic like some demons and humans, but he can actually handle himself in battle quite well. Almaz may not have been off to a good start at the beginning of the story (Going to the Netherworld at level one? With a toy blade? Then getting knocked out with a single hit at the end of it all?), but he's improved--and has been smacked around a few more times--since. He's surprisingly very good with a sword! In addition to the above, Almaz is, well, a hero fanatic. He knows everything there is to know about heroes! You just never know when that sort of information could come in handy, after all. Weaknesses: Though he's gotten better about it, Almaz isn't always terribly quick to leap headfirst into perilous situations. He's still more the type to panic and suggest running depending on circumstances. So Almaz might need a bit of motivation before he'll gather up the guts to do anything, either from himself, his friends, or from princess Sapphire (this includes but is not limited to talking or threatening). Luckily, where the princess is concerned, this really isn't too much of an issue. Unfortunately, therein lies a whole other problem. Despite Sapphire's irritation at it, Almaz is more than willing to sacrifice his life if it's for her sake. Which... isn't healthy, to say the least! In addition to the above, Almaz can be painfully oblivious to things right in front of him. Because he's too caught up in his own thoughts, or simply because he missed it. It's not always a matter of thinking too much though, sometimes Almaz just doesn't seem to think things through enough. He's either fairly gullible and too trusting, or just far too compliant for his own good. |
